Introduction

Dentech is a cloud-based Practice Management System (PMS) for dental professionals. Dentech offers various features including, inventory management, clinical charting, appointment management, patient billing etc. Integrating BirdEye with Dentech will automate the process of review request solicitation for BirdEye clients using Dentech.

Once BirdEye is integrated with Dentech, BirdEye will pull data pertaining to patients who visited the practice the day before. BirdEye collects the first name, last name, email address and phone number of your patients securely and automatically sends them review requests based on the preferences set within the BirdEye dashboard.


Integration Requirements:

Before proceeding with the integration we need to make sure there is a file BLKPAT01.ENC in either of the locations C:\DTWIN\DAT\BLINK\C01 or D:\DTWIN\DAT\BLINK\C01. If the file doesn’t exist then ask the client to reach out to Dentech to get their setup checked and get daily data export setup.

To integrate Dentech, BirdEye engineering team has developed a utility (.exe) to pull files from the client’s server to our SFTP. Using the decrypt.exe utility, Virtual Assistant (VA) team will read files and send review requests manually.


Pre-Steps to create Task Scheduler (Client server)

  1. Create a folder with the name ‘BirdEye’ within the C:\ drive.

  2. Download exe and place it within C:\BirdEye folder.

  3. Rename the BirdeyeUtility.exe to the business number for which the customer data needs to be pulled. For example, 150088776180458.exe



Steps to create Task Scheduler

  1. Go to the ‘Start’ menu and click on the ‘Control Panel’.

  2. Click on 'Administrative Tools'

  3. Now, click on ‘Task Scheduler’

  4. From the 'Task Scheduler' window, select 'Create Basic Task...'

  5. In the Name field, fill-in the task name and click on the ‘Next’ button.

  6. In order to schedule your task on a daily basis, select the ‘Daily’ option

  7. Select today’s date and enter 6:00 A.M. PST in the time field. To proceed, click on ‘Next’.

  8. Select the ‘Start a program’ option

  9. Browse for the exe file within C:\Birdeye folder

  10. Now, click on the ‘Finish’ button to complete the scheduling of your task


Steps to execute dentech Setup on local to pull Files from sftp (To be done by VA team)


Restriction Reason

Restriction reason is used to identify the contacts which have been opted-out(restricted) from sending a review request. This reason can be fetched from Kibana for contacts that are checked-in already.

Possible restriction reasons for Dentech are:
