How to set up call forwarding from your business phone number to the receptionist?

The Receptionist works by answering calls that are forwarded to its number from the business’ main phone line. Once callers are forwarded to the Receptionist, they can leave a voicemail and get answers texted back to them by Robin, or, the business users can manually send text responses to the caller.

For each location, the Receptionist is hosted on a dedicated phone number. In order to activate Receptionist, start by forwarding missed calls from your business's main number to the Receptionist number. NOTE: The Receptionist number for each location is unique and will be different from the existing text messaging number.

To set up call forwarding from your business phone number, you need to log in to your phone service provider’s account and configure call forwarding. For example, you may want to allow your phone to ring for 20 seconds, then, if the call is unanswered, forward the call to the Receptionist number. Once the call forwarding is set up, all the missed calls from your customers will be routed to your 'Receptionist number', and the Receptionist does the rest.

IMPORTANT:

Before you set up call forwarding, ensure you have the list of Receptionist numbers for each location. To find the list of numbers go to the 'Settings' tab, then navigate to ‘Inbox,’ and click on ‘Receptionist’. Then navigate to the bottom and click on the ‘See list of numbers’ button.
